You've got to pick a date Deb

The many weddings I have assisted in planning, the many weddings I have helped direct.. all could not have prepared me for my moment I have to decide on MY OWN WEDDING. I thought the date was the easiest thing to pick. I would soon realize that was not the case.

Both Benji and I hate summer heat- we sweat bad. So summer was out. Benji's friends are still playing football, and deer season in Benji's opinion is the worst time to plan a wedding. So my beautiful fall wedding was out. That left winter and spring. Both our birthdays are in December, and I want my future presents spaced out. Who would want anniversary, birthday, and Christmas all together? Not me. So Spring it is. April was our first choice.. April 16 was the first date we looked at in the beginning. With plans of having our wedding in Cleveland, this date so happenly is on Cross Ties Festival. So many PROs, and so many CONS with having it on this festival weekend.

PROS:
  1. there is something to do in Cleveland
  2. things are open on this saturday
  3. amazing pictures with the arts festival background
  4. it ends at 3:30 so it will be done by 6:00
  5. the 16th is a great date- my parents got married on the 16th
CONS:
  1. the festival is in the parking lot of the church
  2. crowds, and trash everywhere
  3. clean-up crews
  4. benchs will be in the parking lot
  5. busy day
With so many cons, I looked at March 19 and March 26. Umm.. not what I wanted. I looked at April 9, but 4.11.11 just did not look good and did not feel like a happy date haha. So, I stuck with my gut, and we are going to be married on April 16, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. This allows traffic to clear, and it will be a beautiful setting for an evening wedding with lots of activities throughout the day. The Perfect Wedding Day.
